MEET MIKE MCCLINTOCK
Service
Service to others has been a defining theme of Mike’s life. Here in Anacortes, he has contributed his time and leadership to numerous local organizations including Rotary, the American Legion, VFW, and Elks. He’s a proud supporter of youth programs, having volunteered as a timer for high school swim meets and judged student entries for History Day. Mike is also actively involved with Project Healing Waters and the Military and Veterans Service Advisory Council at the University of Idaho. His community-first mindset will guide his decisions on the Port Commission.

Connection
Experience
As a Naval Flight Officer specializing in P-3 operations, Mike gained deep experience in leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, communication, and risk management. Over the course of his career, he commanded multiple units and was responsible for mission execution, personnel safety, and operational coordination at the highest levels. Mike’s Navy background honed his “attention to detail” and rapid decision-making skills—qualities that are invaluable for a Port Commissioner navigating evolving regional and federal challenges.
For Mike, the Anacortes waterfront isn’t just a resource—it’s a way of life. Whether in cheering on or embarking on "dangerous" sailing expeditions with his daughter (prev. AHS sailing team captain), enjoying time on the water with his son who shares a love for kayaking and jet skiing, or spending peaceful evenings by the shore with his wife Marta and dog Brody, Mike’s connection to the waterfront is deeply personal. He believes that preserving public access and protecting the working waterfront is essential—not just for today’s families, but for the generations to come.
